Central Sweden » Historiska Museet

The National Historical Museum is located on Narvavägen, near the bridge to the island of Djurgården and is a heaven for both adults and children alike.

Here you can see objects ranging from the Stone Age up to current times. See the oldest female in Sweden, the Bäckaskogskvinnan, at the ancient history exhibition area Forntider. She lived approx. 10 000 years ago.

Meet the Vikings in the Viking exhibition. And don’t miss the treasures in the Gold Room where all old gold and silver treasures which have been found and dug out of the earth are located, including three very unique large gold collars. And do visit the Textile Chamber and see some of the oldest textiles in the country.
