Southern Sweden » Äskhults By

The outdoor museum Äskhults by shows Swedish country life in a 19th century village. The village is a cultural preserve since 2004 and is situated in the woods 20km southeast of Kungsbacka City Centre. The houses are huddled together around the cobbled courtyard. The grey timber walls tell their own story and give the village its special character. The village’s arable land and pasture are now being recreated in the manner of the farmers in the old days. Enjoy the cosy atmosphere of the coffee house or buy home baked bread and buns for a picnic in the surrounding pasture. For groups we offer guided tours that make the history of Swedish farmer’s life come alive. You can also book a tour for your group where you can try one of the farmer’s daily chores. Welcome to contact us for more information!
