The Radio Museum in Gothenburg is a place where visitors of all ages can explore the perhaps most important medium of all time. In an area of more than 900 m2 you will experience the journey from the earliest radio transmissions up to the use of radio today – and what a journey it has been!
The exhibition spans over a whole range of radio equipment from the first crystal receivers to luxurious stereo wooden cabinets, from portable and small car radios to massive sea vessel communication stations. The Radio Museum features a complete radio from M/S Stena Gothica, as well as a complete operator set-up from the former coastal radio station Gothenburg Radio.
The radio has always had many possible uses, some joyful and some grave. Some of the radios we exhibit have been used by lovers on a Sunday picnic, some by military operators in times of war. With hundreds of hand-on stations, the Radio Museum invites you to explore what radio means for you.”
