Alfred Nobels Karlskoga Degerfors. More than steel and football!
Alfred Nobel’s years as a citizen of Karlskoga have made a lasting impression. His home, laboratory and especially the Nobel prizes still exist today as a commemoration of this formidable man.
Meet history and the places that reflect the lives of the ironworkers, the mine owners and Alfred Nobel. The iron and steel industry provided the foundations for the history that has taken us to where we are today.
Entrepreneurs give life to environments from the early days of the iron industry. The blast furnaces show the mine workers long history, how they made charcoal in a kiln. The foundry chimney and the helve hammer remind us of times gone by.
Jernets Bana is a unique railway system which connects together the vintage railway line, the stations, the trolley cycles and railway sidings with the mainline railway system.
